Help us paint a giant 20’ long mural! This interactive pit stop allows you to play at being Picasso with your kids while you help us create a Fair masterpiece! While here, check out over 30 murals on display that have been coloured by local schools and community organizations.

Bring your kids or just your inner child to explore some of the most magnificent and whimsical children’s playhouses ever designed. Canfor has teamed up with some of the province’s most talented and innovative architectural and design firms to bring life to several brilliant playhouses. Put the cotton candy sugar rush to good use and let your little one’s imagination and energy run wild in playhouses that are like nothing you have ever seen in your neighbours backyard.
Twelve pieces of ‘Eco-Sculptures’, created by the City of Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, will be on display along Miller Drive. Make sure you look for the popular Carousel Horse masterpieces along with several new creations.
The Fair will be the only location within the Pacific Northwest where you can enter the enchanted world of Westeros as part of the Game of Thrones travelling exhibition. Presented by HBO Canada®, this FREE Exhibition will feature a current perspective on the show, focusing on key places, characters and relationships from the series showcasing a collection of nearly 100 original artifacts.
The Exhibition will also offer fans an all new, fully immersive interactive virtual reality experience that will place them within the world of Westeros, and a photo opportunity on the coveted Iron Throne.

The Get Animated exhibit explores the unique and entertaining world of animation, from the classics of traditional hand drawn cel animation to the ever changing computer animation.
Featuring five interactive stations plus 3D models, original artwork, claymation and illustrations, voice acting tutorials, a special area dedicated to the life and legacy of Walt Disney and even classic Saturday Morning Cartoons! The Get Animated experience combines elements from major animation studios including Walt Disney Family Museum, DreamWorks, Sony Pictures Animation, Laika, Screen Novelties, Aardman Studios, and the Chuck Jones Estate.

All the cattiness of the Film Fest, but with cats! Just For Cats honours our favourite pet with a masterfully curated compilation reel devoted to the best in cat-themed YouTube videos featuring all of the most famous feline internet stars.
Now there’s no need to search for funny cat videos alone – together we can enjoy the best clips up on the big screen.
The Internet Cat Video Festival is produced and curated by the Walker Art Center.
Kids can try their hand at becoming a 'farmer for an hour' in the Kids Discovery Farm, showcasing 10 sectors of agriculture with different interactive activities! Try your hand at milking a cow, pedaling a tractor, collecting eggs and harvesting apples in this exciting exhibit! Since its premier in 2009, this fun-filled activity has received rave reviews and continues to be even better this year!
Sanctuary Pond Dock
Learn how to fish in Sanctuary Pond from Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC staff! Participants of all ages will be introduced to fishing through interactive lessons and hands on activities. Learn about local conservation concerns, fish identification, fishing equipment, casting, how to rig your rod, as well as where, when, and how to catch fish. Youth under 16 and participants 16 and older with a valid freshwater fishing licence (available on-site) can also try their luck fishing off the dock on Sanctuary Pond.

This year’s Grand Prize luxury home boasts spectacular valley and lake views nestled on an estate-sized lot on Kelowna’s Kirschner Mountain! The home’s interior has been designed by celebrity designer, and Kelowna resident, Jillian Harris from LOVE IT or LIST IT VANCOUVER.
The Rogers Digital Venue will provide a brand new avenue to discover all there is to do and experience at The Fair. Streaming guest’s Fair Instagram photos, you can see the Fair through each other’s eyes and diverse experiences. Heritage photos from The Fair’s beginnings will be displayed throughout the day so you can see how far we’ve grown. Star Showdown auditions and an animation Short Film Festival will be streamed, along with the ever popular, yet bizarre, Just For Cats: Internet Cat Video Festival. Throughout each day, digital content will be brought to life with live performances of Circus in Wonderland and Let’s Go Crazy – Retro Dance Party!

For a break from the hustle and bustle of the midway, stop by Safeway Farm Country and relax into a showcase of BC Agriculture! Many old favourites are returning to the Big Red Barns for the 2014 Fair and we are working on some exciting new exhibits to entertain and educate about all that Agriculture has to offer! With the largest variety of barn animals found in Vancouver and exciting demonstrations to be seen, there’s tons of barn fun for kids and the whole family at Safeway Farm Country.

In partnership with Vancouver Film School, this competition will feature the best animated short films created by Vancouver Film School students. Guests will be able to text-to-vote for their favourite film for a chance to win some great prizes.

Step inside a fully immersive, 360° projection that will transport you to the most breathtaking locations in the universe! The YVR Discovery Dome 360 Travel Experience will tour the Wonders of the World, a heart racing tour through some of the most awe-inspiring achievements ever conceived by man: The Pyramids of Giza, Machu Picchu, New York City, the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, the Arecibo Observatory and the International Space Station, to name a few!
The presentation incorporates 360° motion capture techniques similar to those made famous by “google street view”. For the first time ever, 360° panoramic video will be displayed on a massive 360° screen nearly 60 meters in circumference.

Four National Teams will feature some of the best award-winning barbecue you can eat – so come on down and taste barbecue ribs, brisket and pulled pork made from real tried and true champions.
