SUMMARY:TLC
DESCRIPTION:TLC’s influence transcends genres from pop\, hip-hop\, R&B to fashion and female empowerment. They continue to define generations. \nFormed in Atlanta in 1990\, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins\, two girls with spirit\, smarts and spunk\, had their sights set on a big future. Navigating some connections\, they started to work on demos with then up-and-coming producer Jermaine Dupri. Feeling a trio could work better than a duo\, a manager recommended Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas to round out the sound\, with their nicknames spelling out the acronym TLC. By 1992\, the girls had not only been signed\, but released their first album\, Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip\, to both critical and commercial success\, selling 4 million copies in the Unites States and yielding 3 top ten singles. Along with their ability to blend funk\, hip hop and soul\, the ladies put female empowerment at the forefront of their songwriting. Two years later they released their breakthrough album\, CrazySexyCool\, collaborating\, as they had with their first record\, Dallas Austin\, Babyface and Jermaine Dupri\, as well as Sean Combs. Met with critical and commercial acclaim once more\, Rolling Stone ranked it as one of the best 500 Albums of all time saying it was “highly enjoyable\, incredibly influential and a certified classic.” The album produced 4 top five singles on the Billboard charts and TLC won Video of the Year for the song “Waterfalls” at the MTV Awards\, making them the first black act to do so. \n1999 brought the release of TLC’s 3rd album\, FanMail\, also produced by Dallas Austin and\, yet again\, a commercial and critical triumph. All Music said of the album\, “Nobody else makes urban soul quite as engaging as this.” Upon the album’s 20th anniversary in 2019\, music scribes from Pitchfork to Rolling Stone to Vibe to Billboard unanimously agreed it was way ahead of its time. \nSeveral months after Lopes’ untimely death in 2002\, TLC released their last album as a trio\, 3D. Producers included Raphael Saadiq\, Missy Elliott\, Timbaland\, Rodney Jerkins and the Neptunes\, with Lopes appearing vocally as she had already completed her parts. Billboard called it a “nearly perfect collection\,” and the album went double platinum in the United States. \nTo date\, TLC has sold 85 million Records Worldwide\, had 4 Number One singles in the US\, 10 Top Ten singles in the US\, won 4 Grammy Awards\, 5 MTV Awards\, 5 Soul Train Awards\, and 4 Multi-Platinum selling albums\, two of them – Fanmail and CrazySexyCool are certified Diamond by the RIAA and they currently have one billion plays on Pandora. It’s no surprise that TLC is the best-selling American girl group of all time. \nAfter a long break\, TLC stepped back into the spotlight in 2015 with plans to release new music via a Kickstarter campaign. Asking fans to donate\, notable admirers such as New Kids on the Block\, Katy Perry\, Bette Midler and Justin Timberlake made contributions\, making it the fastest funded pop music project in Kickstarter history. The duo called their 5th album TLC\, releasing it in 2017 and leading with the track “Way Back” featuring Snoop Dog. Watkins and Thomas hit the road\, touring with Nelly\, Flo Rida\, New Kids on the Block and others. \nThe legacy of TLC is in plain sight for all to see; both Destiny’s Child and The Spice Girls have acknowledged that TLC paved the way for their success. Listeners can hear TLC’isms in the current works of Rihanna\, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj to name just a few. While all their albums have stood the test of time\, it is CrazySexyCool that has become the bellwether to girl power\, righteousness\, pride and tenacity. \nAn album that Billboard said was “timeless” and the NME called “a game-changing R&B classic” is now going to be the centerpiece of an amphitheater tour. The ‘Celebration of “CrazySexyCoo1” tour will find T-Boz and Chilli performing songs from the iconic album\, celebrating the 1990s with audiences around North America. In fact\, fans are being encouraged to come to the show dressed from that era.

SUMMARY:Yung Gravy & bbno$
DESCRIPTION:Yung Gravy  \nOnly the best things get better with age — wine\, cheddar\, 401ks\, the list goes on. It turns out Yung Gravy gets better with age too. \nWhen you think about it\, the name Yung Gravy says a great deal. It’s perpetually youthful\, and it oozes “sauce.” As such\, Yung Gravy uses his own special recipe to bring originality and positivity to make his one-of-a-kind impact on the genre. Gravy flexes his passion for soul music and oldies in his production\, sampling a wide range of musical styles dating from the 1940’s to the present-day. Nostalgic and often-jubilant melodies paired with heavy trap drums form the usual canvas for his signature baritone voice — reminiscent of Barry White. Showcasing effortless flows and endlessly quotable lyrics\, Yung Gravy paints something truly unique while clearly having a good time doing so. In the span of six short years\, Gravy has transformed from Soundcloud stalwart to platinum powerhouse. To date\, his accolades include three platinum and four gold singles as well as 10 sold out tours of North America\, Europe\, and Australia. He has collaborated with his self-proclaimed musical heroes\, including Lil Wayne\, Chief Keef\, Juicy J\, T-Pain\, and the late Young Dolph. Gravy became the soundtrack\, and unofficial second mascot\, of the Tampa Bay Lightning\, and was given an honorary Stanley Cup Ring. He starred in a worldwide commercial campaign with Martha Stewart\, and weeks later performed for the VMAs and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Not to mention\, he partnered with Samsung and Jimmy John’s for campaigns. Tallying 6 billion streams and selling 5 million units thus far\, he’s notched four entries on the  Billboard 200\, two in the Top 30 of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart\, and two on the Top 20 of the Top Album Sales Chart. He’ll hit the stage at  Bottlerock and Hangout Music Festival in 2023. \nFor all of the swagger and style he exhibited upon his arrival\, he managed to become even smoother since his introduction in 2016. After streams in the billions\, packed venues\, and  “side missions” with Martha Stewart\, he stirred up his tastiest sauce yet on his 2022 third full-length opus\,  Marvelous [Republic Records] introduced by the chart-topping platinum-certified Billboard Hot 100 Top 30 single “Betty (Get Money).” \nListen to his music \nhttps://www.facebook.com/yunggravy/ \n  \nbbno$ \nbbno$‘s life changed forever in 2019 on the day he walked across the stage to receive his college diploma. To be clear\, graduating didn’t do anything for him. On that day\, he released “Lalala\,” a cheeky earworm of a rap single that nicely encapsulated his “ignorant but melodic” approach to hip hop and erupted on a global scale. To date\, “Lalala” has racked up over 800 million streams worldwide\, and bbno$’s extensive catalog of music has amassed over 2\,000\,000\,000 (yes\, two billion) streams. \n“I would say that I’m pretty stoked on life 24/7\,” says bbno$ (pronounced “baby no money”). His baseline enthusiasm spills out into his music\, his colorful music videos\, as well as his growing online identity as a gamer under the moniker bbnogames. His raps place an emphasis on creative melodies\, humor\, and mischievous wordplay\, and his philosophy of avoiding overthinking at all costs allows his true personality to shine through. bbno$ is a renaissance man in the age of the internet\, and his career\, a story of both virality and sheer persistence\, is just getting started. \nhttps://bbnomula.com/

SUMMARY:Billy Talent
DESCRIPTION:Canadian punk quartet Billy Talent spent the latter part of the 1990s building a hard-won grassroots following before breaking out into mainstream success in 2003 when their Juno Award-winning debut Billy Talent  went quadruple-platinum\, sending them on an upward trajectory for much of the decade. As they began to incorporate new elements into their music\, their fans followed\, helping to lift each of their subsequent studio albums — including the multi-platinum  Billy Talent II  and III — to the top of the Canadian Albums chart. By the time of 2016’s  Afraid of Heights \, Billy Talent had become a highly decorated rock act with an international fan base and years of hard touring to their credit. After a six-year gap\, they returned with their sixth set\, 2022’s Crisis of Faith \, which landed 3 consecutive #1 songs at Canadian Rock Radio\, leading to two Juno Nominations. \nhttps://billytalent.com/

SUMMARY:AQUA
DESCRIPTION:No other band represents the late 90’s like the Danish dance-pop group AQUA. The band got their world-wide break back in 1997 with their debut album ‘Aquarium.’ The album contained hit singles like ‘Turn Back Time\, ‘Doctor Jones’ and the notorious hit ‘Barbie Girl\,’ which upon its release in May 1997 became a global phenomenon\, making everyone sing along to the lines “I’m a Barbie Girl\, in the Barbie World”. Thanks to the doll-centered storyline and kitschy music video\, which perfectly matched the playful aesthetic of the 90’s perfectly\, the single raced to the top of the charts worldwide and became an instant classic. Even though the song sounded tailor-made for children\, the lyrics told a different and much more un-child friendly story\, which infuriated parents everywhere. Nonetheless\, the plastic fantastic song catapulted AQUA into the public consciousness. \nThe story of Aqua is the story of a unique moment in Danish music history. Behind the hit-making band are lead vocals Rene Dif\, Norwegian-born Lene Nystrøm\, and producers Søren Rasted and Claus Noreen. They got together in 1994 under the name ‘Joyspeed.’ Luckily\, they quickly changed their name to the iconic AQUA before the release of ‘Aquarium’\, which sold more than 17 million copies worldwide and made everyone familiar with the four group members. As Lene Nystrøm puts it herself: “With the release of our debut album\, we had six major hit singles and experienced great success around the world”. Not only did AQUA gain attention for their iconic songs\, but their cartoonish universe\, which often consisted of blue hair\, spikes\, and wild outfits\, also gained attention. \nEven though the public had labelled AQUA as a thing of the 90s\, they quickly followed up on the success with the second studio album ‘Aquarius’ in 2000. The group renewed and expanded its entire musical expression this time\, mixing the bubble-gum music with a sentimental vibe. The album’s lead single ‘Cartoon Heroes’\, gave the group another hit and proved that their musical mixture of humour and pop culture was a bulletproof formula. In the aftermath of the album’s success\, the group announced they were going on hiatus. “We decided to shut down in 2001\, primarily because we had lost the touch\,” Lene Nystrøm states. \nIn the following years\, each band member continued working on their projects. That was until 2007: “We met one evening and found out that we missed making music together. In many ways\, this was chapter 2 in the story of Aqua”. The band’s comeback single ‘Back To The 80s’ went number one in Denmark\, and in 2011 Aqua released their third studio album ‘Megalomania\,’ proving that their love for over-the-top-pop was still intact. Listening to the dramatic play between Lene’s girly vocals and Rene Dif’s humming took the world right back to Aqua’s big break back in 1997. \nLene Nystrøm describes the album as the ultimate Aqua moment: “We wanted to make the best pop album in the world\, and take Aqua to a new universe\, a new sound\, searching for the good tunes and lyrics that always has been Aqua´s trademark.” \nIn 2016 the band went back on the road and has since been touring the world with their 8 people live band\, making them a unique 90’s band as most other acts from the 90’s perform playback. \nIn 2018 AQUA played their first Canadian headliner tour and sold more than 40.000 tickets\, including selling out legendary outdoor venue Echo Beach Toronto\, ON. The tour was a huge success and AQUA has been back in Canada several times and gains huge popularity with Canadians. In 2019 AQUA took brought their show down-under headlining the “So´90s Tour” making stops in Qudos Bank Arena (Sydney)\, Hisense Arena (Melbourne) & Sparks Arena (Auckland\, NZ) etc. In the Europe AQUA is still to this date the ultimate 90’s pop-dance headliner\, headlining festivals and 90s events all over Europe with the energic power performance full of hits. \n2022 and AQUA keeps touring around the world! While the band now consists of three founding members + band (Claus Noreen has departed from the project); they continue to perform to fans across the world. No other band can bring out the memories of the late 90’s as AQUA.  AQUA has sold 38 million albums\, 7 million singles and belongs to the absolute elite of music. Early 2022 the Music video of Barbie Girl reached more than 1. billion views on YouTube. \nhttps://www.aquaofficial.com/#/

SUMMARY:Billy Idol
DESCRIPTION:46 years into his recording career\, Billy Idol is still the ever-moving myth\, the intellectual/feral internet-age bookworm/caveman of our dreams\, finding modern language for the fiery\, Eddie Cochran-meets-Ziggy Stardust rip’n’roar that he’s been making since he first stepped on stage. \nAnd that’s all on The Cage EP\, Idol’s latest on Dark Horse Records; four tracks that engage you like classic Idol\, yet keep your eyebrows raised like that stuff you heard coming out of that teenagers’ car that just rolled down the street. \nIt’s funny; maybe the name really did define him. 46 years ago when everyone was sniffing the nihilistic glue and giving themselves snotty little punk rock names\, it was supposed to be “Idle” – but someone wrote it wrong\, and William Broad became Billy Idol instead. And that’s what he became: An idol. But this idol is not made of stone\, and he’s certainly not stuck on a pedestal to be done\, dusted\, and dusty. Billy Idol insists on being today’s news\, not just yesterday’s memory. He fire-breathes dreams and nightmares\, he delivers clubland croon and Bolan-blessed cool\, and he moves through the desert\, sluices through the cities\, speeds across oceans\, hills\, mesas\, and time. And if you think Idol is Idle\, you haven’t heard The Cage EP. \nIt’s been exactly one year since Billy Idol released his last EP\, also on the George Harrison-founded Dark Horse Records – the rich and diverse Butch Walker produced The Roadside\, which had the effect of being both in your face and full of the uncertainty and darkness of the pandemic. But a lot has happened during that time. First and foremost\, Billy Idol and Steve Stevens hit the road again\, and that amazing energy infected their new work. \nBilly Idol: “The last EP\, we were kind of warming up to this. This EP is a lot more coming at you. Loads more guitar. And that’s a lot of fun. We were pretty fired up by the fact that we hadn’t played for a couple of years\, and suddenly we were bursting on stage\, and it kind of woke us up to what the next EP could be: That it could be a little more strum und drang\, a little more coming at you\, a little more rock’n’roll\, a little more f*ck you! Well\, a tiny bit of f*ck you\, anyhow. The bottom line is we had a lot of fun doing it.” \n“Cage\,” the title cut of the EP\, may be Billy and Steve’s most ferocious and flat-out punk rocker in decades. In fact\, it may even make you think that the spiraling riffs\, soaring melodies\, and morse-code rhythms of Generation X have been transported into the 21st century. \n“Classic is what we were shooting for\,” says co-producer Zakk Cervini.. It’s loud guitars and live drums yet treated in such a way that it can live alongside music being made today. I asked myself\, ‘If Billy was a brand-new artist today\, what would he be making?’ And that’s what we shot for. One of the goals Tommy and I had was to help Billy and Steve make songs that would just go crazy live. This time around\, we were all thinking\, shows are back\, the world is opening up again\, this is exciting\, we want new material that just goes off live. High energy\, kickass great rock songs. That’s what we shot for\, and I think that’s what we got.” \nhttps://billyidol.net/

SUMMARY:Pink Martini featuring China Forbes
DESCRIPTION:“Pink Martini is a rollicking around-the-world musical adventure… if the United Nations had a house band in 1962\, hopefully we’d be that band.” \n– Thomas Lauderdale\, bandleader/pianist \nIn 1994 in his hometown of Portland\, Oregon\, Thomas Lauderdale was working in politics\, thinking that one day he would run for mayor. Like other eager politicians-in-training\, he went to every political fundraiser under the sun… but was dismayed to find the music at these events underwhelming\, lackluster\, loud and un-neighborly. Drawing inspiration from music from all over the world – crossing genres of classical\, jazz and old-fashioned pop – and hoping to appeal to conservatives and liberals alike\, he founded the “little orchestra” Pink Martini in 1994 to provide more beautiful and inclusive musical soundtracks for political fundraisers for causes such as civil rights\, affordable housing\, the environment\, libraries\, public broadcasting\, education and parks. \nOne year later\, Lauderdale called China Forbes\, a Harvard classmate who was living in New York City\, and asked her to join Pink Martini. They began to write songs together. Their first song “Sympathique (Je ne veux pas travailler)” became an overnight sensation in France\, was nominated for “Song of the Year” at France’s Victoires de la Musique Awards\, and to this day remains a mantra (“Je ne veux pas travailler” or “I don’t want to work”) for striking French workers.  Says Lauderdale\, “We’re very much an American band\, but we spend a lot of time abroad and therefore have the incredible diplomatic opportunity to represent a broader\, more inclusive America… the America which remains the most heterogeneously populated country in the world… composed of people of every country\, every language\, every religion.” \nFeaturing a dozen musicians\, with songs in 25 languages\, Pink Martini performs its multilingual repertoire on concert stages on six continents. After making its European debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 1997 and its orchestral debut with the Oregon Symphony in 1998\, the band has gone on to play with more than 50 orchestras around the world\, including multiple engagements with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl\, the Boston Pops\, the National Symphony at the Kennedy Center\, the San Francisco Symphony\, the Cleveland Orchestra\, and the BBC Concert Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall in London. In 2014\, Pink Martini was inducted into both the Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame. \nPink Martini has released 11 studio albums on its own independent label Heinz Records (named after Lauderdale’s dog)\, selling over 3 million albums worldwide. In 2019\, the band released two EPs featuring the vocals of Pink Martini’s newest members Jimmie Herrod and Edna Vazquez. Both vocalists have toured with the band for the past year and are officially part of the group with the release of Herrod’s EP Tomorrow and Vaquez’s Besame Mucho\, both of which were co-produced by Thomas Lauderdale and China Forbes. \nhttps://pinkmartini.com/

SUMMARY:Doug and the Slugs with VSO
DESCRIPTION:Unquestionably\, Doug and the Slugs are one of the most distinctive and entertaining Canadian bands of the last 40 years. Their upbeat musical style\, musicianship and offbeat stage antics have made them a staple of the Canadian music scene for decades. Formed in Vancouver in the fall of 1977\, The Slugs quickly became the hottest attraction with Canadian Top 40 hits including ‘Too Bad’\, Who Knows How”\, “Making It Work”\, “Day by Day” and “Tomcat Prowl”. \nThe Slugs toured relentlessly from New York to the North Pole and produced 7 albums (4 of them certified Gold) proving themselves to be a ‘national treasure’. The band had international releases in the US\, Europe and Australia. They had underground success and critical acclaim in America\, and helped launch the video era with Slug videos among the first getting heavy rotation on MTV\, due to their film-like quality and irreverent humour. \nTragically\, on October 16\, 2004\, Canada lost one of its greatest entertainers and songwriters when Doug Bennett passed away. Indeed\, the Slugs wondered if they could ever continue without Doug. In 2009 the band auditioned Ted Okos\, a journeyman rocker for many years with the band ‘Nick Danger’. Ted and the original slugs\, John Burton\, Simon Kendall\, Steve Bosley\, Wally Watson and Richard Baker\, hit it off immediately. Ted’s high energy delivery and warm\, slightly irreverent stage antics\, plus his keen understanding of the essence of the songs\, made him the obvious choice for a rebirth of ‘Doug and the Slugs’. The 5 original Slugs and Ted have been delighting audiences for the past 14 years. \n2022 saw the release of the documentary Doug and the Slugs and Me\, a nostalgia-packed ride down the backroads of Canadian rock history\, featuring music videos\, rare performance footage\, photos and home movies. \nNOW THEY ARE BACK!!! Don’t miss the chance to see and hear The Slugs relive their glory when they perform at the PNE with the VSO! \nFounded in 1919\, the Grammy and Juno-award winning Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO ) is the third largest orchestra in Canada\, the largest arts organization in Western Canada\, and one of the few orchestras in the world to have its own music school. \nLed by Music Director Otto Tausk since 2018\, the VSO performs more than 150 concerts each year\, throughout Vancouver and the province of British Columbia\, reaching over 270\,000 people annually. On tour the VSO has performed in the United States\, China\, Korea and across Canada. \nThe orchestra presents passionate\, high-quality performances of classical\, popular and culturally diverse music\, creating meaningful engagement with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. \nhttps://dougandtheslugs.ca/ \nhttps://www.vancouversymphony.ca/

SUMMARY:Walk off the Earth
DESCRIPTION:Walk off the Earth is a Juno Award-winning multi-platinum musical phenomenon from the Toronto area that was thrust onto the international stage in 2012 and continues to take the world by storm. In the past couple of years alone they’ve headlined the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater and Wembley Arena\, sold out the historic Sydney Opera House\, notched a top-10 single in Canada for 30 straight weeks\, and made it all the way to the top of the Pop Album chart in the United States. They have collaborated with a wide variety of top-tier artists ranging from the likes of Snoop Dogg and Sarah Silverman to Keith Urban and Steve Aoki\, selling millions of copies of their recordings and notching billions of online views along the way. WOTE also has an extensive resume of brand collaborations that includes (but is not limited to) Volkswagen\, Pepsi\, Lays\, Nissan\, Velcro\, Polk Audio\, the NHL\, and Discount Tire. On the corporate performance side\, past clients include Google\, Sony\, Sysco\, CloudFlare\, Hootsuite\, Okta\, YouTube\, and ING Direct to name a few. \nSince the group’s inception\, WOTE has continued to push the boundaries of what an artist can and can’t do. Their YouTube covers have won them Streamy awards (the highest accolade in the online space)\, their renditions of the national anthem have been performed at major sporting events like IIHF World Juniors and the NBA Finals (complete with glowing reviews from Toronto Raptors players)\, they’ve appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show and Good Morning America multiple times and their original songs have earned numerous high-profile accolades (“Red Hands” achieved #1 at AAA radio while “Rule The World”\, “Fire In My Soul” & “I’ll Be There” have all achieved multi-platinum certification). \nIn late 2018\, the group faced a sudden and unexpected loss with the passing of band member Mike “Beard Guy” Taylor. Mike’s inimitable spirit and incredible ability behind the keys gave the band a sturdy foundation on which to create and inspire that will be sorely missed. In the wake of his passing and after much difficult consideration\, the band decided to move forward in Mike’s honor and continue to spread the incredible legacy that he left behind. \nIn 2019 the band hunkered down in their home studio in Ontario and wrote what would become their 7th studio album “HERE WE GO!”. Released via Sony/The Orchard in October of the same year\, the album debuted at #1 on the US Pop Album chart and at #3 on Canada’s Top Album chart while also climbing to the #5 slot on Billboard’s Top Album chart. The album’s lead single “I’ll Be There” saw great success at AAA radio peaking at #10 in Canada and #25 in the US. \nForced to remain at home for the bulk of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, WOTE decided to make the most of the opportunity and was able to churn out a record amount of new content. 2021 stands to be another banner year with the release of their 8th studio album “Meet You There” spearheaded by the lead single “Love You Right” featuring Danish superstar Lukas Graham. The band followed up their album release with single “Hold On To Your Love” featuring American Singer – Songwriter Phillip Phillips. Performances at Toronto’s legendary Budweiser Stage and Napa Valley’s BottleRock festival are on the horizon as the world begins to reopen\, and the group has recently commenced production of an animated show titled “WOTE In Space: The Infinite Tour” that is set to arrive on a major streaming platform as early as next year. \nWalk off the Earth recently released their first single of 2022. The band recruited two-time GRAMMY-nominated artist\, philanthropist\, and entrepreneur D Smoke for their latest anthem\, “Bet On Me”. \nThe chemistry between band members Gianni\, Sarah\, and Joel continues to be infectious and undeniable. Joel’s driving and prolific percussion work and Gianni and Sarah’s remarkable vocal talents continue to exhilarate fans all across the globe\, with new fans (affectionately known as “WOTE-lings”) coming on board every day. Their independent spirit\, unstoppable work ethic\, and awe-inspiring creativity have consistently catapulted Walk Off the Earth to new heights and the future looks brighter than ever. \n \n

SUMMARY:Blue Rodeo: 30 Years in July
DESCRIPTION:The definition of a rebel is someone who goes against the grain. For close to thirty years now\, Blue Rodeo has taken the road less travelled – and succeeded far beyond anyone’s expectations. The band emerged in the early 80’s as a countrified rock band in the era of hair metal and glossy pop. Despite sticking out like a sore thumb (or maybe because of it)\, their single “Try” became omni-present on radio across Canada and set in motion a three-decade long career of headlining every club\, theatre and arena in Canada. In 1993\, when grunge rock was squeezing commercial rock off the radio\, they recorded their most acoustic album\, Five Days In July\, and scored their biggest hit selling over a half million copies of that one record alone. \nNow\, with their 16th Warner Music Canada studio album – Many A Mile – Blue Rodeo’s successes are measured in terms that include induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame (2012)\, receiving a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award (2014) and acknowledgement that the band has steadfastly defined itself by its own terms\, and in the years that ensued\, sold in excess of four million records. \nReflecting back on three decades of successes and those early Blue Rodeo days\, both Jim and Greg are able to fully appreciate where the band sits in the pantheon of music. “Success seemed really real when we were entertaining people at The Horseshoe. That was the top of the heap for us\,” Cuddy says. “When you look back\, you realize that it has just been this beautiful dream.” \nhttps://www.bluerodeo.com/

SUMMARY:BURTON CUMMINGS & his Band with COLIN JAMES
DESCRIPTION:Burton Cummings \nFew artists have achieved the level of public success and critical acclaim that Burton Cummings enjoys in a career spanning more than sixty years. \nBurton’s voice has been rated among the finest in rock music. As lead singer and songwriter with the original The Guess Who\, Burton recorded and wrote/co-wrote hits such as “These Eyes\,” “Laughing\,” “No Time\,” “American Woman\,” “Share the Land\,” “Hand Me Down World\,” “Albert Flasher”\, “Star Baby”\, “Clap for The Wolfman\,” and “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature”. As a solo artist\, he leaves his mark with the poignant “Stand Tall\,” “I’m Scared\,” “You Saved My Soul\,” and his signature “My Own Way to Rock”. \nWith the original The Guess Who\, he earned recognition for the first U.S. platinum album by a Canadian artist and\, as a solo artist\, the first quadruple platinum Canadian-produced album. Burton is honored to have received\, in total\, 80 platinum and gold record awards. Recently\, the best-selling book The 100 Top Canadian Singles ranked “American Woman” the greatest Canadian single of all time. \nAs the voice of the classic Guess Who’s hits before the band broke up in 1975\, to then go on and make his mark as a solo artist\, Burton Cummings remains at the top of his game as an unrivaled singer\, songwriter\, showman\, and recording artist. Described as Canadian rock ‘n’ roll royalty\, a national treasure\, and a living legend\, for Burton Cummings there has always been one constant: he remains true to himself and his own way to rock…and continuing to perform the songs the way they were originally conceived by the artist who sang and wrote/co-wrote them. \nhttps://www.burtoncummings.com/ \n  \nColin James \n“I’m opening doors for you –walk through them.” \n-Stevie Ray Vaughan. \nFrom the prairies of Saskatchewan to sharing the stage with arguably the greatest and most influential guitarists of all time\, Colin James still remembers those words of advice given to him by the late\, great\, Stevie Ray Vaughan. \nColin James has taken those words to heart. His career has spanned over 30 years\, with a track record that includes 20 studio albums\, 8 Juno Awards\, 30 Maple Blues Awards and multi-platinum record sales. His latest 2021 release\, Open Road\, for which he won a 2022 Juno Award for best Blues Album and is nominated for Blues Foundation 2023 best Blues Rock Album\, is a celebration of personal connections. It includes original tunes written with long time collaborators such as Colin Linden\, Craig Northey and Tom Wilson and reinterpretations of covers by a diverse group of songwriters including Bob Dylan\, Albert King\, Tony Joe White and others. \nHis 2018 album Miles To Go garnered worldwide attention\, debuting on the Billboard Blues Charts and holding a position on the RMR Blues Chart for 24 weeks\, 14 weeks in the top 10. He continues to sell out shows across Canada with over 100\,000 tickets sold on tours over the past 3 years. Colin was inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2013. \nLooking back over Colin’s career\, it’s a timeline rich in highlights. His 1988 self-titled debut\, featuring his two self-penned hits “Voodoo Thing” and “Five Long Years\,” was the fastest-selling album in Canadian history. It won him his first Juno and an opening spot on tour with Keith Richards. His second album\, Sudden Stop\, featured his hit “Just Came Back\,” which reached #3 on the U.S. radio charts and earned him the Juno Award for “Single of the Year.” Colin was next credited with launching the swing revival\, thanks to his wildly popular Little Big Band\, which has released four successful albums to date. \nHowever\, it wasn’t until 2016’s Blue Highways that James found himself on a blues chart: the album spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Roots Music Report’s Blues Chart. It also landed him one of his biggest hits: “Riding in the Moonlight\,” a Willie Dixon song that garnered millions of streams on Spotify. \nOver the years Colin has worked with some of the world’s most revered artists including\, Bonnie Raitt\, Albert Collins\, Pops Staples\, Robert Cray\, Albert King\, Keith Richards\, Lenny Kravitz\, ZZ Top\, Mavis Staples\, Luther Allison\, Roomful of Blues\, Bobby King and Terry Evans\, John Hammond Jr.\, The Chieftains\, Carlos Santana\, Little Feat\, Johnny Hallyday\, Jeff Healey\, and Buddy Guy. In addition to his own recording and touring Colin is a prolific songwriter\, his music has been recorded by the likes of Maria Muldaur\, Johnny Hallyday and Lucinda Williams. \nColin has set the bar for consistency and talent in Canadian music and even after 20 acclaimed albums remains at the top of his game\, always challenging himself musically. A consummate professional and a superb guitarist\, Colin is a musician’s musician. The confidence that comes with maturity can be heard in his voice and seen in his electrifying stage performance. He does what comes naturally – he always has – he knows no other way and no other life. \nhttps://colinjames.com/

SUMMARY:Amanda Marshall with very special guest Serena Ryder
DESCRIPTION:Amanda Marshall \n“It takes years to learn how to play like yourself”. I don’t know who said that. I think it was Miles Davis\, but I could be wrong. It’s true\, though. It takes years to fully develop any kind of creative voice. Painters\, writers\, musicians — all kinds of “creators” take the same journey. Basically\, whether you’re making stuff or just making stuff up\, it takes awhile to find a groove and figure out what “your thing” is. \nI was six years old the first time I walked into a recording studio. A classmate’s mother sang commercial jingles\, and she took a bunch of us kids along to watch. I instantly felt at home. \nCut to 1995. My self-titled debut album was released (Epic/Sony). It went on to become one of only eighteen albums in Canadian history to achieve Diamond status\, and achieved Gold or Platinum status in fifteen countries. That album turned twenty-five in 2020\, and like the parent of any successful twenty-something\, I’m proud and more than a little amazed by the passage of time. The next two albums\, Tuesday’s Child (1999) and Everybody’s Got A Story (2001)\, both multi-platinum\, were no slouches\, either. Music has taken me around the world. I wound up meeting\, recording and performing with many of the folks whose work lived on those shelves in my parents’ living room during my formative years. It was humbling and exciting; I picked their brains and tried to learn as much as I could during each collaboration. \n“Making music” and “being in the music business” are two very different endeavours. The latter is a chronic distraction from the former. For the better part of the next decade\, I spent time doing what a lot of musicians find themselves doing — trying to get on with actually making music while dealing with the business of making music. But all that worked out just fine\, and most importantly\, it brought me to this: Heavy Lifting. \nHeavy Lifting is my first full-length studio album release in twenty-two years and was the winner of this year’s JUNO for Adult Contemporary Album of the Year. These songs explore a variety of themes. The first single\,  “I Hope She Cheats” (Marsha Ambrosius/Canei Finch) is a blistering\, funny\, cutting\, brilliant take on heartbreak. “God Forbid” is a smart-ass song about consumerism\, religion\, and the excuses that humanity makes for its’ mistakes.  “I’m Not Drunk ” is a ladies’-night-at-the-honky-tonk closing time anthem. “Rainbows In Gasoline” is about domestic violence and what it means to ‘know better’. “Dawgcatcher”\, “Built This House”\, and “Halfway Love” are straight-up riff-driven blues-pop\, a nod to the musical mentors who welcomed a teenaged belter to their party and gave her the mic. \n“It takes years to learn how to play like yourself”. I’m getting there. \nhttps://www.amandamarshall.com/ \n  \nSerena Ryder \nSerena Ryder tours her compelling latest album\, The Art of Falling Apart\, which invites listeners to join her mental wellness journey through a driving pop sound and the full range of her powerful voice. \nOn The Art of Falling Apart\, her eighth studio album and seventh JUNO Award\, she helps us understand the importance of sitting with the uncomfortable moments and the wisdom in their messages. Over a driving pop sound bursting with irresistible rhythms\, pulsing bass lines\, and the full range of her powerful and expressive voice\, she pulls listeners through her own winding\, transformational journey\, detailing despair\, toxic relationships\, and breakdowns alongside hope\, joy\, and big\, big love. \nhttps://www.serenaryder.com/

SUMMARY:Bachman-Turner Overdrive
DESCRIPTION:Randy Bachman is quite simply the rock and roll heartbeat of Canada.  He has had a glorious life masterminding breakouts of two of the most iconic Canadian bands of all-time: Bachman-Turner Overdrive (BTO)\, and the Guess Who. Now Randy–promising you ain’t seen nothing yet—says\, “Bachman-Turner Overdrive / BTO is back!” \nWith over 40 million records sold worldwide\, 120 gold records\, #1 US Billboard Pop Single and Multiple Top 40 US Billboard hits\, it isn’t surprising that BTO are still getting 3 million Spotify streams monthly. \nBTO’s origins began in 1970 when Randy\, after co-writing such major Guess Who hits as “These Eyes\,” “No Time\,””Undun\,” “Laughin’” and “American Woman.” left the Winnipeg-based group. Backed by its high-powered stage performances\, Bachman-Turner Overdrive was a nuclear reactor of fuzz-toned aggression churning out such pounding signature tunes as “Takin’ Care Of Business\,” “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet.” “Gimme Your Money Please\,” “Roll On Down The Highway\,” and “Let It Ride” that begged for a cranked-up car radio\, and a steering wheel to hit for hours on end. \nIn his home country\, Randy has received the Order of Canada\, the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award\, 11 JUNO awards\, the SOCAN Lifetime Achievement Award\, and is a double-inductee in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. \nIn 2011 the American Society of Composers\, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) presented Randy with its Global Impact Award\, and he was inducted into the U.S. Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville in 2014. \nAlso joining Randy in BTO will be Randy’s son\, Tal Bachman\, along with touring musicians Marc LaFrance\, Brent Knudsen\, and Mick Dalla-Vee. \nThis show marks the 50th anniversary of BTO’s first performance at Pacific Coliseum! It is fitting that such a historic milestone coincides with the revival of one of Canada’s most influential bands. After many decades\, selling tens of millions of records with multi-platinum and number 1 awards\, Bachman-Turner Overdrive is back in full gear!

SUMMARY:Blondie - CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:A message from the band:\n\n“We are saddened to announce the cancellation of several upcoming Blondie concert dates during August and September. This was a hard decision to make\, and we understand how disappointing this news is for everyone. We will keep you further informed as soon as possible. Your support means the world to us\, and we are grateful for your understanding.”\n\n\n  \nBlondie has been a musical trailblazer for over four decades and remains an enduring global icon\, continuing to inform the worlds of music\, fashion\, and art. From their early days as an irreverent Lower East Side punk band to their later status as international ambassadors of New York cool\, Debbie Harry’s persona and the band’s boundary-pushing pop have shaped the look and sound of many chart-topping female artists who followed in the last five decades. \nComprised of founding members\, singer-songwriter Debbie Harry\, guitarist and co-writer Chris Stein\, and powerhouse drummer Clem Burke along with band members bassist Glen Matlock\, guitarist Tommy Kessler and keyboardist Matt Katz-Bohen\, Blondie’s chart-topping success\, fearless spirit and rare longevity have resulted in a wide array of accolades.  Those achievements have included an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2006\, a NME Godlike Genius Award in 2014\, a Q Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2016\, the 2017 Silver Clef Outstanding Achievement Award\, and more than 45 million albums sold worldwide to date. In 2022\, the Blondie Archival Box Set “Against The Odds” was nominated for a Best Historical Album Grammy Award. \nThe band’s creative prowess is still going strong – they are currently working on their twelfth studio album and are in preparations for a new documentary film and a scripted feature in 2024. Over the past year\, Blondie made memorable appearances at the Coachella Festival and Glastonbury Festival main stage. Blondie’s ever-expanding legacy and enduring influence are a testament to their unique place in the history of music and popular culture. \nhttps://www.blondie.net/

SUMMARY:John Fogerty
DESCRIPTION:John Fogerty is a true American treasure. As the leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)\, Fogerty forged a distinctive\, groundbreaking sound all his own\, equal parts blues\, country\, pop\, rockabilly\, R&B\, swamp boogie\, and Southern fried rock ‘n’ roll\, all united by his uniquely evocative lyrical perspective. Fogerty is a Grammy winner and has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He is the only musician to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his song\, “Centerfield\,” a staple at baseball stadiums across the country. Among Fogerty’s many hit songs\, which have sold over 100 million records\, both as a solo artist and as leader of CCR\, highlights include “Proud Mary\,” “Susie Q\,” “Fortunate Son\,” “Born on the Bayou\,” “Bad Moon Rising\,” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain\,” among many others. \nIn 2019\, Fogerty celebrated 50 years in music with a worldwide tour with his show\, “My 50 Year Trip.” An album\, 50 Year Trip: Live at Red Rocks\, featuring a collection of Creedence Clearwater Revival hits\, including songs from the set list of his performance at the legendary Woodstock music festival in 1969 among other fan favourites\, was released on November 8\, 2019. \nIn April 2020\, while self-quarantining together the Fogerty Family – featuring John with his sons Shane\, Tyler\, and daughter Kelsy – gathered in their home studio to play some music together. A weekly video series began and became so popular that a digital EP\, Fogerty’s Factory\, was released via BMG on Fogerty’s birthday\, May 28\, 2020. An extended Fogerty’s Factory full album was released on November 20\, 2020. In December of that year\, Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Chronicle Vol. 1 hit the milestone of charting for more than 500 weeks on the Billboard 200\, becoming only the eighth album to ever do so. In early January 2021\, Fogerty released his first new original solo music in eight years\, “Weeping in The Promised Land.” The song is Fogerty’s definitive look back at 2020\, ultimately serving as a moving tribute to those who had been affected by the pandemic\, as well as those who have suffered through prejudice and injustice\, with an eye on brighter days ahead. \nFogerty recently partnered with Concord on the official release of Creedence Clearwater Revival At The Royal Albert Hall on the label’s Craft Recordings. More than 50 years after the legendary 1970 show\, the original multitrack tapes were meticulously restored and mixed by GRAMMY®-winning producer Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell. The accompanying documentary takes viewers from CCR’s earliest years together in El Cerrito\, CA through their meteoric rise to fame\, and is the only concert footage of the original CCR lineup to be released in its entirety. \nIn 2023\, Fogerty\, the composer of iconic songs that have inspired generations – “Proud Mary\,” “Down on the Corner\,” “Fortunate Son\,” “Bad Moon Rising\,” “Have You Ever Seen the Rain\,” among many others – acquired a majority interest of the worldwide publishing rights to his historic song catalog from Concord. The compositions have been both a decades-long dream and a personal mission for John. For years\, the copyrights to Fogerty’s classic songs were the property of Saul Zaentz\, the owner of Fantasy Records\, who sold the label and its publishing portfolio to the former Concord Music Group in 1995. Fogerty\, who extricated himself from Fantasy in 1974\, re-signed with the label upon its purchase by Concord. Even so\, he was not able to gain ownership of his songs – until now. \n“As of this January\, I own my own songs again. This is something I thought would never be a possibility. After 50 years\, I am finally reunited with my songs. I also have a say in where and how my songs are used. Up until this year\, that is something I have never been able to do. I am looking forward to touring and celebrating this year! I want to thank Concord for helping to make all of this happen. And\, I am excited for new ideas and a renewed interest in my music … like a revival\,” said John Fogerty. \nhttps://johnfogerty.com/

SUMMARY:Blue Rodeo
DESCRIPTION:In the 40 years since forming\, Blue Rodeo have sold over 4 million albums\, received dozens of JUNO Award nominations and wins\, played over 2\,000 shows\, been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame\, received a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame\, been named to the Order of Canada and have been honoured with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award. \nThe definition of a rebel is someone who goes against the grain. For close to forty years now\, Blue Rodeo has taken the road less travelled – and succeeded far beyond anyone’s expectations. The band emerged in the early 80’s as a countrified rock band in the era of hair metal and glossy pop. Despite sticking out like a sore thumb (or maybe because of it)\, their single “Try” became omni-present on radio across Canada and set in motion a four decade long career of headlining every club\, theatre and arena in Canada. \nReflecting back on four decades of successes and those early Blue Rodeo days\, both Jim and Greg are able to fully appreciate where the band sits in the pantheon of music. “Success seemed really real when we were entertaining people at The Horseshoe. That was the top of the heap for us\,” Cuddy says. “When you look back\, you realize that it has just been this beautiful dream.”

SUMMARY:Barenaked Ladies
DESCRIPTION:After more than three decades as the lead singer and guitarist for Barenaked Ladies\, Ed Robertson has a routine when it comes time to start writing songs for a new album. “I tend to get ideas while I’m driving up to my lake house\,” he says. “I record voice memos along the way\, and then I listen back and try to make sense of them and mix and match the various ideas I’ve come up with. On a typical drive\, I’m happy if I get six or seven—eight ideas would be a good drive. \n“For this album\,” he continues\, “on my first writing trip I had 21 different song ideas. I thought\, \n‘Wow\, this is really cool.’ Then I sat down to write\, and I thought if I could finish one of them—get the verses\, get the bridge\, get the chorus in one day—then I’ll know this whole writing period is going to be good. And I finished eight songs. I sat down at 10 in the morning\, and I looked up at 9:30 and I hadn’t eaten\, I hadn’t moved from the writing table. It was exciting. I’ve never felt that before.” \nThe results mark a new chapter for a band that’s sold more than 15 million albums\, earned Grammy nominations and won multiple Juno Awards\, and in 2018\, were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. In Flight\, BNL’s eighteenth studio album\, retains the dry wit and keen observation we expect from Robertson\, bassist Jim Creeggan\, keyboardist/guitarist Kevin Hearn and drummer Tyler Stewart\, but adds a strong sense of maturing and lessons learned. “I think as I age\, I get less self-conscious\,” says Robertson. “I had a goal to write simpler songs on this record\, to not out-clever myself and be a little more direct\, more emotionally present and honest. And when I listened to what I wrote\, I heard what I’ve been talking about for the last couple of years—ruminations on gratitude\, getting older\, cancel culture. It was everything I’ve been thinking about\, distilled into songs.” \nWhile BNL’s last album\, 2021’s Detour de Force\, looked closely at the perils of contemporary\, alternate reality media\, In Flight offers a sense of joy and appreciation\, exemplified in the first single\, “Lovin’ Life\,” in which they unironically sing “We’re lovin’ life/We love it so much that we wanna live it twice/We’re lovin’ life/We take it high\, we take it low/We ride that rollercoaster anywhere it goes.” (Robertson wrote the song with Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin and Steve Aiello of Thirty Second to Mars; elsewhere on the album\, he co-wrote “I Am Asking You” with Donovan Woods). \n“It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by the firehose of bad news that we’re all pretty tuned into\, \nand it is real\,” says Robertson. “But I think it’s really important to remember to still be grateful. \nhttps://www.barenakedladies.com/
