Accessibility

Playland is pleased to offer “Access 2 Program” cardholders a 2 for 1 discount on our Hallowed Eves admission. The cardholder pays the regular rate, and the attendant gets in free.

Accessible Restrooms

The accessible restroom is located under the games line beside Scoops Ice cream.

ATMs

ATMs will not be available onsite. Playland Hallowed Eves is a cashless event. Accepted payment methods include credit, debit and mobile tap. PNE Gift cards are available to purchase in advance online at TicketLeader or at the Guest Services booth. Guests who have only cash, can purchase a PNE gift card at the Guest Services booth to use on site for games and food and beverage.  Gift cards do not expire and there are no refunds or exchanges.

Baby Change Areas

Restrooms with baby change tables are located at the west side of Triple O’s restaurant and the north end of the midway games line near Scoops.

Bags and Backpacks

Small clutch purses and fanny packs are permitted (no larger than 8.5”x11”).
All bags will searched upon arrival.  Back packs, large purses, coolers, etc. are not permitted.  There are no lockers available.  Guests will be directed to return bags to their vehicles before entering.

Bikes

Bikes are not permitted inside Playland. Bike racks are available outside the entrance and are left at owner’s risk.

Cameras

Cameras and/or video cameras are permitted on site, but strictly prohibited on rides. Selfie sticks and drones are not permitted on site. Playland requires that all photographs or videos taken by guests be used for their personal enjoyment ONLY.

Cannabis Policy

Hastings park is a non smoking site. (see Smoking & Vaping for specific Playland Hallowed Eves information) This includes the consumption of cannabis.

Exceptions will be made for medical cannabis (with appropriate documentation) or other prescription medications. Individuals who have recreational cannabis on their person are encouraged to secure it in their vehicle.

Guests found smoking, vaping or consuming cannabis in any form on the PNE grounds will be evicted.

Credit and Debit Cards

Playland Hallowed Eves is a cashless event. Credit and debit cards are accepted for admission, food, and merchandise. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and mobile tap (Apple/Google Pay). Code of Conduct

We want all those attending our events to enjoy the experience in a responsible fashion. Guests who demonstrate inappropriate and disruptive behavior, including the following, are subject to being removed from the premises:

  • Excessive consumption of alcohol
  • Alcoholic beverages brought onto PNE property. Any attempt to bring alcohol into Playland will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct and will result in the Guest being ejected.
  • Obscene, offensive, or abusive language or actions
  • Fighting, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Dangerous, abusive, profane, or illegal behavior
  • Unruly or inconsiderate behavior
  • Interfering with security procedures
  • Interfering with the event or throwing any object onto the stage
  • Sitting in a location other than the guest’s ticketed area
  • Selling tickets or other merchandise on PNE property
  • Handing out goods or literature not pre-approved by the Pacific National Exhibition
  • Any other conduct that is beyond the bounds of reasonable behavior for spectators attending an event

Costumes and Facepaint

Costumes, face paint, and full face masks are not permitted.

Dress appropriately

Playland is a casual, family-oriented environment. We suggest you dress comfortably, wear good walking shoes and check the local weather report before you leave for Playland. We ask that you not wear clothing that includes, but is not limited to: Clothing with inappropriate words, phrases and/or graphics. Guests wearing flip flops or open toed shoes will not be permitted on some rides. We suggest everyone wears comfortable shoes that attach to the foot. Guests wearing a bikini, and or open back tops will not be allowed access to rides. Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times, including entering and leaving Playland.  Some rides will not allow guests wearing flip flops.  Shoes not secured to their feet with covered toes may not be able to ride certain rides. First Aid

First aid services are available. PNE first aid staff are specially trained in emergency first-aid procedures.  The First Aid trailer is located in the North / East corner of the park.

Food & Beverage

Playland offers a variety of food options including some vegetarian options.

Outside food and beverage is not permitted. Exceptions will be made for medical or infant needs. Please contact 604-253-2311 or info@pne.ca  in advance of your visit to make any necessary arrangements.

Guests are welcome to bring empty water bottles.  The water refill station is located on the east side of The Beast.

Guide Dogs / Service Dogs / Pets

Animals are not permitted at the PNE with the exception of Service Animals. Please have documentation available.  

Guide dogs and service dogs (as well as puppies-in-training carrying BC Government Identification) are welcome.   Accepted certification includes Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS), BC & Alberta Guide Dog Services, Vancouver Island Compassion Dogs, Assistance Dogs International, or the International Guide Dog Federation.

The guide or service dog must always remain on a leash or harness and/or under the control of their handler.

Health and Safety

Vaccine Passport

By order of the Provincial Health Officer (PHO), proof of vaccination is required to access events, services and businesses. To access PNE events and venues all guests, employees, exhibitors and event staff must have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24, you must be fully vaccinated.   (See Vaccine Passport below for more information)

Face Masks
Masks are highly recommended at all times, but guests won’t be required to wear them at Playland Hallowed Eves except in all indoor spaces such as washrooms and tents if not consuming food or drink. Staff will be wearing masks at all times.

Venue Cleaning
High touch areas including handrails, concession stands, and restrooms will be disinfected.  Hand sanitizing dispensers will be located at several locations throughout the park.

COVID 19 Protocols
If you feel sick, please stay home. Know the symptoms of COVID-19 which can include the following: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or running nose, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

Lost Person

If an individual becomes separated from your group contact the nearest Playland staff member, security personal or visit Guest Services for immediate assistance.

Stay safe at Playland by setting a meeting spot, picking up a Child Find sticker from Guest Services and by taking a picture of your kid’s outfit.

Lost and Found

If you have lost a personal item while attending Playland Hallowed Eves, please email lostandfound@pne.ca. Be sure to leave your full name, contact number, the date and event you lost your item and a full description of the item. Every attempt will be made to locate the lost item and you will be contacted only if the item is found.

The PNE does not reimburse patrons for lost or stolen items.

Note: All lost & found or checked items will be destroyed or donated if unclaimed after 15 days.

Parking and Transportation

The PNE has over 2,600 on-site parking spaces located at the corner of Hastings and Windermere Street, Gate 6 off North Renfrew Street, and Gate 9 off Bridgeway Street. There are at least 50 on-site accessibility parking spaces.  Guest requiring accessible parking should enter the PNE through Gate 9.

Parking is $15.

The PNE site is easily accessible by public transportation.  For detailed information on transit schedules and fares, visit www.translink.ca.

Pat Down Policy

In order to provide a safe environment, you and your belongings may be searched upon entry into Playland. By tendering the ticket and entering Playland, you consent to such searches. If you elect not to consent to the searches, you will be denied entry into Playland. Also, the premises are monitored by video camera, please be aware that your movements may be recorded.

Bags

All bags will be searched upon arrival. Small clutch purses and fanny packs are permitted (no larger than 8.5”x11”). Back packs, large purses, coolers, etc. are not permitted.  There are no lockers available.  Guests will be directed to return bags to their vehicles before entrance.

 

Medication

Medication permitted with proof of prescription or ownership.

 

Water Bottles

Empty, re-useable water bottles are permitted and water refill stations are available.

  • Bottles, cups, jugs, or cans of any kind
  • Fireworks, flares, or other pyrotechnics
  • Alcoholic beverages of any kind, narcotics, or other illegal stimulants
  • Any sort of animals other than permitted guide dogs
  • Any promotional or commercial materials not pre-approved by PNE management
  • Spray cans, corrosive, flammable substances, dyes or receptacles containing substances which are harmful to health or are highly flammable
  • Mechanically-operated instruments which produce an excessive volume of noise such as megaphones, air or gas-powered horns
  • Laser pointers
  • Cameras, video cameras or other sound or video recording equipment
  • Computers or other devices used for the purposes of transmitting or disseminating sound, pictures, descriptions, or results of the events via the internet or other forms of media
  • Other objects which could compromise public safety and/or harm the reputation of the Event

Re-Entry

No re-entry will be allowed during Playland Hallowed Eves.  This means once you have scanned in through the Playland gates, you are not permitted to leave and come back.

Restrooms

Restrooms with baby change tables are located at the west side of White Spot Triple O’s restaurant and the north end of the midway games line near Scoops. The accessible restroom is located under the games line beside Scoops Ice cream. Universal restrooms are located in Kids Playce.

Rides and Attractions

All Rides and/or Attractions have height and physical restrictions to ensure guest safety. Typical safety restrictions include height and physical restrictions such as shoulder width, bust, weight and, health and safety advisories and accessibility guidelines. These restrictions and advisories are listed at individual rides click here to review individual ride restrictions and requirements.

To provide Playland guests with the highest quality experience, attraction maintenance is occasionally necessary. Please contact Guest Services at 604-252-3620 for operational updates.

Rentals (wheelchairs and lockers)

Wheelchairs are available to rent through Guest Services once on site.  These are allocated, first come, first served.  Lockers are not available. For more information please email gx@pne.ca

Smoking and Vaping Areas

For Playland Hallowed Eves there will be a designated 19+ smoking area located near the North/East side of the park.  Smoking, included e-cigarettes is not permitted anywhere else on the grounds other than the dedicated smoking area.   

Guests found consuming cannabis in any form at any event hosted on the PNE grounds will be evicted.  Exceptions will be made for medical needs.

What do I need to show to access Playland Hallowed Eves? 

We will ask to see your BC Vaccine Card either via mobile device or printed paper and a piece of valid government photo ID for example:

  • B.C. driver’s licence or BC Services Card
  • Passport
  • Photo ID issued by another province or territory

 

What age is the vaccine card required?

The requirement applies to all people born in 2009 and earlier (12+).  Guests who are more than 18 years of age are required to show photo identification in addition to their proof of vaccine.  For more information see here:  https://www2.gov.bc.ca/vaccinecard.html

What if I am from another province? 

People who don’t have a B.C. ID are also required to show proof of vaccination. You might not have B.C. identification if:

  • You’re visiting from another place
  • You just moved here

People from other provinces or territories must show:

  • Provincially/territorially officially recognized vaccine record
  • Valid government photo ID

International visitors must show:

  • Proof of vaccination they used to enter Canada
  • Passport

 

What if I purchased a ticket to an event and can no longer attend based on this requirement?

  • Requests for refunds can be made by emailing info@ticketleader.ca. Refund policies vary by event and by event promoter.

 

Will PNE staff also be vaccinated?

  • All staff working at PNE events and venues will be fully vaccinated.

Weather

To ensure the safety of our guests during inclement weather such as high winds, rain or lightning in the park vicinity, individual rides or the entire park may be closed. Affected rides may be reopened if deemed safe. Playland does not issue rain cheques or refunds for ride or park closures.
