Art in the Park – Call for Submissions

For the past 13 years, the PNE, along with our partner Vancity, have focused on the implementation and growth of our sustainability objective. Our Art in the Park Program invites artists to submit their ideas for public art projects in large scale, with a focus on our sustainability story.

The artwork could be in any medium; including but not limited to, murals and sculptures, utilizing elements “recovered” from our recycling area. We are looking for artists to propose meaningful Public Art pieces for select spaces within Hastings Park that reflect our sustainability objectives and tell our story through the themes of zero waste, water use, and energy conservation.

This is an open to all artists, working individually or in collaboration. As we reside on indigenous territories; artists and cultural practitioners of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations are especially encouraged to apply.  The portfolio submission deadline is June 21, 2021 at 5pm.

Are you ready to see the 2021 PNE Prize Home – located in South Surrey?

Step through this year’s grand prize: online or on foot!

The PNE would like to acknowledge that this is an incredibly devastating time for our Indigenous employees, contractors, and guests, as well as their families, friends and communities.

The discovery of 215 indigenous children in a mass grave at a former residential school in Kamloops last week is a horrifying reminder of the extensive abuse, neglect, and death inflicted on indigenous children in residential schools across Canada.

Our deepest condolences are offered to the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc Nations, along with all residential school survivors, and their loved ones, who continue to carry this trauma while also experiencing ongoing systemic racism. We have lowered our onsite flags for 215 hours as a way for us to honour the children and families impacted.

2021 Summer of Fun

We are optimistically planning a scaled-down version of our PNE Fair experience for later this summer…

We look forward to sharing more details soon!
