Arts & Culture Grant Program

The New Arts & Culture Grant deadline has been extended until January 31, 2026.
We are pleased to announce an extension to the application deadline for the inaugural year of the Arts & Culture Grant Program, a multi-year initiative developed in partnership with Freedom Mobile.
This year’s program features a one-time $20,000 grant to commission a signature design for the entryway to Hastings Park, alongside two $10,000 grants supporting artists and cultural practitioners across a wide range of disciplines.
The Arts & Culture Grant Program is intended to foster artistic excellence, enhance public access to the arts, and support the professional development of artists. Whether you are creating new work, engaging with communities, or advancing your artistic practice, we encourage you to apply.
Funding Streams
Applicants can apply under one of three funding streams:
Stream 1 – Creation
Support for the creation, production, and presentation of a new original work of art. This may include—but is not limited to—installations, performances, digital work, or interdisciplinary projects. The focus is on building a public-facing creative presence.
Stream 2 – Community
Funding for collaborative, community-based arts projects that engage schools, youth groups, cultural organizations, or local neighbourhoods. Projects should result in a tangible artistic outcome that supports connection and shared experience.
Stream 3 – Career Growth
Grants for professional development opportunities such as mentorships, residencies, portfolio development, or public showcases that contribute to long-term career advancement.
Remuneration – 2025 Pilot Year
In the first year of the program, the PNE will award:
· Two (2) grants of $10,000 each, aligned with any of the three funding streams
· One (1) grant of $20,000, focused specifically on the design of a public art concept for the new digital tower infrastructure at Gate 1 (Hastings & Renfrew). This work will house digital screens that showcase programming at the Freedom Mobile Arch.
Who Can Apply
This is an open call to artists working individually or collaboratively. As we operate on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, we especially encourage Indigenous artists and cultural practitioners to apply.
Application Eligibility
To apply and to be eligible to receive a grant, the applicant must be an individual or group who is geographically located within British Columbia throughout the Application Period, and who is not (i) a Quebecor/VideoTron/Freedom Mobile/Fizz employee or director, or such individual’s immediate family members or persons with whom such individuals are domiciled; (ii) a PNE employee, officer or director or such individual’s immediate family members or persons with whom such individuals are domiciled; (iii) an employee of any advertising or promotional agency associated with this contest.
