August 16 & 17 - Bobby Bruce’s Nearly Neil & The Solitary Band

 

Celebrating another incredible year, Bobby Bruce returns to the PNE Fair in 2025, continuing his tradition of captivating audiences with his world-class tribute to Neil Diamond. This year, Bobby takes the stage once again to deliver an unforgettable performance. Known internationally as Nearly Neil, Bobby has spent over three decades dazzling audiences with his authentic and charismatic tribute to Neil Diamond.

A native of the Lower Mainland, Bobby has a long-standing connection to the PNE. From his early days performing in Playland production shows to his many headlining appearances, Bobby has become a cherished part of the PNE’s entertainment history. His journey has taken him from Las Vegas’ Legends in Concert to sold-out tours across Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America, earning him acclaim as one of the best in the business.

Bobby’s performances celebrate Neil Diamond’s timeless music, brought to life with energy, passion, and a touch of his own distinctive charm. Bobby’s show is a must-see for fans of all ages. August 19 & 20 - DREAMS: Canada’s Ultimate Tribute to Fleetwood Mac

 

DREAMS the Ultimate Tribute to Fleetwood Mac, is an authentic sounding, six piece tribute to Fleetwood Mac. They perform in full costumes, similar to the actual styles worn by the original band.

The band of professional musicians has played hundreds of shows over the last few years in casinos, theatres and at corporate events, all around the world. Some of those places include Las Vegas, Chicago, the Dominican Republic, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Regina, to name a few.

You will be amazed at how close Dreams looks and sounds like the original band. They take you back in time, so you can experience this amazing music all over again! The PNE is excited to present DREAMS for a two night run, in celebration of the band’s landmark 20th Anniversary.

August 21 - Phonix Dance Band

 

A bit of the old school, bit of the new school. Get ready to dance with The Phonix, Vancouver’s premier 9-piece party band delivering an electrifying mix of Funk Soul R&B classics. Their diverse set list spans from party classics to today’s Top 40 hits, ensuring a night of non-stop dancing and excitement.

Since forming in June 2009, the Phonix has performed at nearly 600 events and festivals. The band’s sound fuses heavy-hitting dance grooves with flashy horn lines, energetic instrumental solos and soaring vocals that will make you want to dance all night. What truly sets them apart are their GRAMMY, JUNO, and CCMA award-winning members, who’ve graced stages with icons such as Quincy Jones, Bif Naked, Hey Ocean and Jo Jo Mason. August 22 - Queer As Funk

 

Not your typical dance band, Queer As Funk are part-advocates, part-funk revivalists, turning stages into dance floors and audiences into family for over a decade.

Born of a desire to bring funk and soul to Vancouver’s queer community, Queer As Funk is dedicated to gathering and taking up space. The band has become a beacon in the 2SLGBTQI+ community, putting on high-energy live shows where diversity is celebrated and all are welcome.

Bringing fresh takes to beloved classics in funk, soul, and Motown, Queer As Funk’s powerful vocals, tight horn arrangements, and irresistible rhythm section make each performance as groovy as it is fun. Their arrangements are creative, their vibe is pure celebration, and their love for each other is palpable, adding depth to the onstage dynamic that models the concept of chosen family.

Queer As Funk has played stages across Canada, including six sold-out headlining shows at Vancouver’s legendary Commodore Ballroom. The group’s individual members are consummate professionals in their own right, having collectively performed with artists Serena Ryder, Tegan and Sara, Dan Mangan, and Ken Boothe.

August 23 & 24 - Julio Avila Cuban Band

 

Julio Avila Cuban Band is an electrifying 12-piece ensemble, led by the extraordinary bass virtuoso, composer, and lead singer, Julio Avila! Born and raised in Cuba within a family steeped in musical tradition, Julio developed an early and deep connection to the soulful sounds of changüí, a genre rooted in his native Guantánamo. Immersed in Cuba’s vibrant musical culture, he honed his craft on the bass, while also excelling as a lead vocalist, arranger, and composer.

As a key member of the internationally acclaimed La Sonora Universal, Julio captivated audiences across Europe. Later, with El Grupo Cubano Brisas Del Palmar, he brought his electrifying performances to Western Canada, touring since 2005.

Since 2015, Julio has been based in Vancouver, where he continues to share his love for Cuba’s rich musical heritage with the West Coast. The Julio Avila Cuban Band is a dynamic project driven by a passion for musical excellence and a deep commitment to preserving and celebrating Cuban culture. The band’s performances – spanning salsa, son, merengue, cumbia,

Beyond the razorblade grooves, adrenaline-fueled stage show, and mastery of their art, Trilojay is about the experience of music. One can experience Trilojay either from the dense heat on the dance floor or the inspired creativity in their arrangements.
