How can I pay for parking?
You can pay for parking in two ways:
- Pay-by-meter stations located throughout the parking areas
- Mobile app for convenient remote payment and time extensions
–
+
What types of payments are accepted at the meter?
Our meters accept all major credit cards and Interac Visa. Please note that coin payments are not accepted for security and safety reasons.
–
+
Why are coin payments not accepted?
Coin payments are not accepted due to security concerns. In the past, off-street lots in Vancouver that accepted coins attracted criminal activity, with attempts to drill into meters for cash. By eliminating coins, we keep properties safer and also reduce environmental impact through more sustainable payment options.
–
+
What mobile apps can I use for payment?
We accept payments through ZipBy, Passport, Honk, and ParkMobile.
Using the System
–
+
Why are these changes happening?
This change is part of a broader initiative to modernize PNE operations and align with parking systems across Metro Vancouver. The new system will improve traffic flow and provide guests with flexible payment options, enhancing the overall guest experience.
–
+
Can I extend my parking time?
Yes. You can extend your parking time remotely using the mobile app, or visit an onsite pay-by-meter station to add more time.
–
+
When do event rates apply?
Event rates begin 2 hours prior to an event starting.
–
+
What about short visits or deliveries?
We have 30-minute pick-up and drop-off zones across the site to improve access and reduce congestion. These zones are ideal for short visits, deliveries, or quick meetings.
Technical Issues & Support
–
+
What if a meter isn't working?
If a meter isn’t working, it typically means a battery needs to be replaced. EasyPark receives automatic alerts through our backend system, so we’re aware and will dispatch service promptly. In the meantime, payment is still required either at another nearby meter or through one of our accepted mobile apps.
–
+
What if a receipt doesn't print?
EasyPark can reissue receipts. Customers can request one through the Contact Us page on the EasyPark website.
Tickets & Enforcement
–
+
When does parking enforcement begin?
Parking enforcement begins on September 17.
–
+
How is parking monitored or enforced?
EasyPark manages the system using license plate recognition technology.
–
+
I received a parking ticket, but I paid for parking. Why?
About 50% of parking tickets occur when license plate information is entered incorrectly during payment. Unfortunately, our enforcement patrollers cannot verify payment if the plate number doesn’t match. If this happens, customers can contact EasyPark through their website, and they will review and void the ticket if payment is confirmed. To verify, EasyPark typically requires the last four digits of the credit card used.
–
+
When is a vehicle towed off-site?
Vehicles may be towed off-site at the request of EasyPark if:
- They are parked in a designated “No Parking” zone, or
- They have more than 4 unpaid tickets.
