Seasonal Employment Information

The PNE provides various employment opportunities on a seasonal basis in order to successfully operate Playland, the PNE Fair, and Fright Nights.

Our peak operation period begins in June with Playland opening and carries through to the end of October with Fright Nights. During this time period we recruit for approximately 1,300 seasonal employees.

 

 

 

Seasonal Recruitment Information

Playland — Every season we hire approximately 350 Playland employees. The Playland jobs postings is typically posted in March and has descriptions of all available roles. Hiring for Playland usually begins in April and continues until May.

The Fair — On an annual basis, we hire approximately 1300 individuals to work during the last two weeks of summer to contribute toward the operation of the Fair at the PNE. Fair group interviews are held during the month of July, with work available from mid-August to Labour Day Monday.

Fright Nights – Each year, we hire anywhere from 60-100 individuals to work during Fright Nights; typically, these positions are acting positions to help us scare our guests during the operation of Fright Nights! Group interviews for Fright Nights actors/cast members are held in August, and the beginning of September.

Important Recruitment Dates

This year the PNE will be hiring for three (3) major seasons: Playland at the PNE, the Fair at the PNE and Fright Nights at Playland. Successful candidates will be invited via email or phone call to attend a group or individual interview session.

Returning Seasonal Employees

Employees who worked during the previous year who received a successful performance review will be invited to return for the next season. Invitations for returning Playland employees will be sent out via email in March and invitations for Fair returning employees will be sent out in April.

How old do I need to be to work at the PNE?

You must be at least 15 years of age or older, although some positions do have minimum age restrictions.

Do I have to wear a uniform while I'm working?

Most positions do require you to wear a uniform. Employee Services provides employees their uniform free of charge. Uniforms may consist of a golf shirt and a nametag. Face masks, hats, and a light wind breaker are also provided upon request.

How much do you pay?

Most wages start at minimum wage and vary depending on the department of employment and the skills and abilities required by the job. For your convenience, specific position wages are provided on each job posting. Search current job opportunities.

When and how will I be contacted for an interview?

If you have applied for a seasonal position, the PNE People & Culture Department will reach out to applicants being considered within 4-6 weeks via email. Are there transfer opportunities?

Yes! We do not accept mid-season transfer requests, however, we do offer returning employees an opportunity to explore other departments prior to the start of the season. Please note that not all transfers are granted as they are based on eligibility and departmental needs.
