We are looking for over 1,000 enthusiastic and dynamic employees to work in a wide variety of departments for this year’s exciting PNE Fair.

Preference will be given to candidates who submit their resume before Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Base wages start at $18.01/hr with 5% additional pay in lieu of vacation & other benefits, resulting in a total of $18.91/hour.

Note that all positions below are unionized and are part of the CUPE 1004 Local.

Catering Cook

Day in the Life

Prepare and serve food items in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Keep food prep and kitchen areas clean and organized, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. Communicate clearly with kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations and timely service. Stay aware of timelines and proactively manage daily food preparation needs.

Core Candidate Requirements

Knowledge of kitchen operations, equipment, and food safety guidelines. Must be able to stand for long periods, follow kitchen recipes, adhere to food safety guidelines, and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.

Special Requirements

Must have Food Safe Level 1 certificate. Must have restaurant or catering experience.

Catering Server

Day in the Life

Greet guests, take orders, deliver food and drinks, replenish buffets, manage tables and suites, ensure guest satisfaction, and clear dishes. Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests while staying organized throughout shifts. Handle payments accurately, communicate clearly and effectively with both guests and kitchen staff, and potentially assist with setup and cleanup before and after shifts.

Core Candidate Requirements

Must have Serving it Right (or equivalent). Must be able to spend a lot of time standing and walking.

Special Requirements

Food Safe Level 1 certificate is an asset. Must have pervious serving experience in a restaurant, pub, or catering environment. Fast food experience is not acceptable.

Day in the Life

Engage guests of all ages in interactive, sports-themed play stations, bringing high energy and enthusiasm to create a fun, inclusive, and welcoming environment. Encourage participation, provide instructions at each station, and support safe, respectful use of all play areas. Maintain guest flow and cleanliness throughout the zone, while working both independently and collaboratively to ensure a smooth, guest-focused experience. Seek guidance from supervisors as needed.

Must be friendly, energetic, and outgoing. Able to engage guests of all ages at interactive sports-themed stations. Comfortable working with activities like soccer, hockey, football, and basketball.

Free Play Zone Supervisor

Day in the Life

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Free Play Zone while leading frontline staff to deliver a smooth, guest-focused experience. Maintain a high-energy, positive presence and motivate the team to keep the area active and engaging. Ensure staff are well-positioned and equipped, monitor guest interactions, and address any issues or escalations promptly. Serve as the primary contact for staff breaks, safety concerns, and communication with management. Support training and onboarding of new team members as needed, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for both staff and guest.

Day in the Life

Meet and greet VIP guests in a courteous and professional manner. Provide an exceptional and friendly guest experience while assisting with check-in, as well as promoting and selling Fair ride passes and gift cards.

Office Clerk

Day in the Life

Respond to internal requests for staff and vendor ID passes, check emails, and manage pass printing and distribution throughout the day. Greet and assist staff and partners picking up credentials, process payments for additional requests, and maintain accurate records. Troubleshoot basic issues and escalate more complex concerns to your supervisor. Work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment where clear communication, attention to detail, and confidence using Word, Excel, and other basic software are key.

Core Candidate Requirements

Friendly, positive, detail-oriented, reliable, and organized. Accurate record-keeping abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and general computer applications. Strong customer service and communication skills. Comfortable handling payments, resolving minor issues, and working independently.

Ensure the cleanliness of the barn, the safety of guests, exhibitors, animals, and staff. Provide our guests with a positive, and safe interaction with animals. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Maintain the cleanliness of Farm Country including Upper and Lower Farm Country.

Confidence handling and working with a variety of animals, large and small. Comfortable working in a dusty environment and cleaning.

Day in the Life

Provide a safe and educational environment for guests of various age groups, teaching them about agriculture industries. You may be assigned to an exhibit to host and must be comfortable talking families and children, as well as maintinaing the cleanliness of the exhibit.

Ambassadors

Day in the Life

Provides roaming and static support to the PNE Security and Guest Services Teams by providing guest support, assistance and wayfidning. The Ambassador Team works closely with the Security and Fair Dispatch teams to observe and report additional oeprational support to issues or incidents.

Day in the Life

Complete customer transactions using a Point of Sale system, providing customer service and potentially pouring alcoholic beverages. You are required to check ID’s and wrist band for all customers who are 19+ and must follow all liquor rules and regulations.

Talkative, interactive, sound judgment and decision making ability. Confidence to enforce rules, policies. Strong customer POS transaction skills and a customer service mindset. Maintaing your work station in a clean and presentable manner. Able to work well with limited supervision.

Ensure all food areas are clean and sanitized of debris for guests to enjoy. You will be on your feet for the entire shift, and will be outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, being comfortable with this is a must!

Operate Wheel of Fotune Games within rules and regulations in compliance with GPEB regulations. Create an enthusiastic and welcoming environment for guests. Mentally calculate and award winnings to winners. Explain rules, house, and game, to patrons and ensure that rules are followed. Perform other related duties as required.

Core Candidate Requirements

Must be outgoing, vocal, and have great communication skills. Ideal candidate should have some knowledge of the basic operation of Wheel of Fortune Games (previous experience is an asset). Ability to enforce rules of play fairly and effectively.

Fair Finance Cashier

Day in the Life

The Fair Finance Cashier is involved in the support of the Lottery Gambling cash management for Casino Games during the Fair. The position distributes cash, maintains an overall float balance and covers cash needs with the overall responsiblity of reconciling this balance to ensure accuracy at various times during their shift

Core Candidate Requirements

Mathematically inclinded, positive attitude, good customer service skills, able to follow security protocols.

Special Requirements

Previous experience working in a banking, or cash management role. Able to think outside the box to resolve cash issues and deployment in a sudden change of environment

Day in the Life

F&B Stockpersons

Day in the Life

This position will require you to receive and off-load deliveries, build and deliver orders for various F&B locations. This position is physically demanding and will require you to be able to lift and transport items up to 50lbs. Warehouse equipment (pallet jack, push carts, golf carts, ladders) are frequently used in this position.

Core Candidate Requirements

Ability to work quickly and must have endurance for physical tasks. Ability to work in warehouse setting with attention to detail. Maintaing your work station in a clean and presentable manner.

Special Requirements

Lifting up to 50lbs on a regular basis, and standing for long periods of time. Previous warehouse experience an asset. Valid Forklift certificate an asset but not a requirement.

Day in the Life

Sell PNE Prize Home lottery tickets to guests at the PNE Fair and meet daily sales and commission targets. This role works independently, standing at an assigned location within the Fair grounds for the duration of the shift. It is also essential to accurately balance the sale of tickets and cash with daily transactions.

Core Candidate Requirements

Outgoing personality that will motivate guests to purchase lottery tickets. Great communication skills, must be vocal, and highly enthusiastic.

Special Requirements

Must be 19 years of age or older due to licensing requirements. Ability to stand and speak for long periods of time. Successful completion of grade 12. Previous sales, marketing, vendor, or promotions experience is preferred.
